About New Nepali Websites Award

These were picked among the top new nepali websites of the year 2006. There are equally other outstanding new nepali websites perhaps we could not visit them or could not found them or they never made it to our directory. We could have picked 100s, but we thought these are enough to be honored as they bring something new, uniqueness and innovation in many forms to our Nepali Web. Congratulations to you all, and if your site did not win the award, please try improving it! There is always next time. And for those of you who have won this award, keep working hard for your website, build websites keeping "USERS" in mind - the simplest and easiest thing that most of us often forget but so easy to do. Make a site for users and you will surely enjoy traffic, recognition and sometimes even revenue from advertisements. New websites takes time to be popular. The harder you work on providing unique contents the faster you will become popular.

About Sites of the Year

This year we have picked two sites as the sites of the Year. What makes a site so good to call it as the Site of the Year? We are not going to answer too much on this but would like you to find out for yourself by visiting those sites.

If you are really really interested as to why we picked them among so many other websites, here is the answer:

DWO.ORG.NP - What a new Nepali site that came this year, and it is our site of the year as well. A site that is working towards eliminating over 4 million or more of our fellow Nepalese who are considered untouchable. Visit this site, easy to browse, and learn about how this organization is working. How would you feel if someone came close to you and said, "Sorry, I can not touch You!" ?

mysansar.com - Blogs will slowly take over the web. Nepali Blogs are awesome. Last year, one of our blog won the site of the year award. And here it goes again, a blog wins our site of the year for this year. Umesh Shrestha, the founder and blogger of the site does what he loves best - blogging. He tries to bring key social issues to the readers instead of carrying daily news. Congratulations mysansar.com - you are our #2 site of the year. Keep up the good work and keep going further.

About Tourism Awards

This award is our small way of encouraging webmasters and people involved in the tourism industry to do better in the days ahead which would ultimately benefit the users just like you and me. If your site has won an award, cheers! Go ahead display your award proudly for your customers to see. You have worked hard to reach to a level where your hard work has been recognized and honored. And for all travelers checking out for Nepali travel sites, don't miss those travel sites, they have been recognised by NepalVista.com!

And for those of you who did not see your site in our pick. Please don't get upset. Try improving your website. Our Tourism Award will continue from now on. Page Titles full of junks, first index page with hidden texts (white background and white fonts), and pages with full of keywords which is often refer to as Cloaking and Keyword Stuffing and fancy sites but little use for users are not always the winners of our awards. When we visit a site we want to make sure you love us - your visitor! You might ask? Are you a search engine ? Then why are you looking for such stuff ? No, we are not the search engines. But we are the user of your website. And if you have tricked us in anyway, that is not fare. This year we looked at Tourism Sites that were simple, easy to browse, page titles were written for users, some of them offered Prices of travel packages which they were offering, (but did not hide a thing unlike other websites). A few sites were so good, almost too good as why they could not have been awarded at all. But a few errors on their sites did not make it through. Was that your site ? If your site is designed by someone else, make sure to check your site yourself. See if the submit form works, check all the pages on a regular basis.
