Where to go to eat?
Most cities in Nepal have a variety of restaurants offering typical Nepali to American to Chinese to Continental dishes. You are sure to find a restaurant of your choice. Most hotels have their own restaurants and bars some of which offer swimming pools and  while others offer view of the Kathmandu valley and the mountains. What to Eat?
Kathmandu and Pokhara are an eater's paradise. Here hundreds of international standard eating out facilities exist. Try your food of choice but make sure one such is to discover the wonderful flavor and aroma of Nepali or Newari food which is the most favorite food in this sub continent. During your trekking expedition in the remote parts, don't forget to taste the ethnic delights such as Sherpa Tea or Local food whose recipe history go back as far as hundred year. Some foods to try out while in Nepal are: Chicken Tanduri or Chicken Curry -Indian food, Tibetan dishes, Chinese Momo, Typical Nepali food, Newari Food, and of course any other food with lot of spice and pepper!

What to drink?

Nepal makes international brands of beer such as San Miguel, Carlsberg, Kingfisher, and Tuborg as well as  local beers such as Star, Tiger and Iceberg. It also makes spirits including rum, whisky, vodka and gin. Imported wines, beer and spirits are also available here. Locally made liquor such as chang and rakshi are also available. These are made from barley or millet and are highly intoxicating.

About Drinking Water?
Most Nepalese living in city areas drink tap water only after it was has been boiled and filtered. Drink only the bottled mineral water. Bottled mineral water such as Kinley (of Coca Cola), Thirt-Pi and others are available throughout Nepal. Do not drink tap waters which are unfiltered.

How much does it cost?
Local food is inexpensive in Nepal except a few foreign cousins where only imported commodities add to the cost of the food. Beer is very cheap, one large bottle (750 ml) costs just 1 US $. Tourists are required to pay 2% tourism tax. 10% VAT (value added tax)  will also be applicable except on the necessity commodities such as rice, oil, biscuits, etc. The cost of food various from place to place.
