Nepal Tourism 2011 Year

Share and Celebrate

This is our First video to promote the Nepal’s Year 2011 Tourism Festival. It’s starting early, so we all have time to share. Video says, “WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU?

About and Out –
It’s official and we know : Nepal has declared the English Year 2011 as the Tourism Year; Title of the festival being “Nepal Tourism 2011 Year” — 365 days of none stop action!

Busy For Sure –
From here, and then, and even after, many folks in the tourism sector will be busy and so will be our Tourism organizations.

Travel companies would be busy creating innovative and attractive travel packages to bring more tourists to our land; perhaps they would target new areas in the country such as those rural areas which offer something for tourists but have remained untouched by them.

Our Tourism Government Bodies such as Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Ministry of Tourism and Aviation would be busy in promoting the upcoming festival. It’s not going to be an easy task of managing and planning such a large festival, let alone executing it.

Measuring Performance –
Unlike our past events, Nepalese will be looking at everyone who are involved. It is by measuring our performance we can make changes in future. If we can measure our performance on a daily basis, we can make changes immediately, if that is required to achieve our target. Hence, no more waiting of months or quarter of the year or even a year just see where we are at.

Learning about the previous festivals might also help us understand how we can make this festival even better. Should we get some Donations in the form of Advertisement instead of money ? We all know, Nepal gets donations for all kinds of programs. And money comes from countries like USA, UK, Australia, Japan. Would those countries give us money to Run a Tourism Ad on their local television ? While it may sound unrealistic, but would that be more effective ? Would more people start talking about Nepal ? Perhaps even get to know about Nepal ? Absolutely and Positively ! We should expect to see a Nepal’s Tourism Ad run on popular channels such as the CNN or BBC.

Doors are Open –
We all have become used to reading news in print and now we are used reading online too. Also our Government is open– for sharing their plans and data online has become a daily job. We hope those who are responsible will do what ever it takes to make this festival a grand success. That being said, should all of us– Nepalese and Nepal lovers just tie our hands and do nothing ? No way !

Helping Hands –
We should provide the much needed helping hands; Those Nepalese Associations scattered throughout the world should do their part to promote the festival; perhaps by reducing the contents under picnic and photo gallery, and those of us who are in Nepal, we should abide by the law and keep the promise a live. Let us not have any strikes such as  Bandhas and RoadBlocks for the year 2011. Can we make a promise right now that 2011 is going  to be a collective effort. Nepal will solute you for being a true Nepali.

Target is a Target —
Bring about 1 Million Tourists to Nepal in 2011 Year.

The figure 1,000,000 itself isn’t impossible to achieve at all. That is roughly 83,334 tourists entering to Nepal each month.

Imagine for a moment how many jobs that would create.

One Million figure is just in our head but our Government might even set it higher because it’s not attainable for such a country that is blessed by Nature and Beautiful People. If peace prevails as it has been, Nepal promotes festival thought out the world via web, TV and all media means ,  and also Nepal follows strict laws for punishing those who try to damage tourism business, Nepal can achieve more than that Tourists comfortably. Although challenges lie a head, many see 2011 as a successful year that will boost the tourism business by many folds surpassing previous records, perhaps even creating a new history.

If it’s easy to achieve something, why make a target any way ?
A target should be challenging and realistic. Apply all the resources and achieve. If we are going to make a long jump, and we have the resources to keep us safe, let us make the longest jump ever. We believe 2011 will be on the biggest tourism festival.

For us, even if we get closer to that figure, we would be more than happy; we would consider 2011 a grand success. Wouldn’t you ? Roughly 1 Million Tourists for Nepal would generate more revenue than the revenue earned by foreign remittance created by Nepalese who work in foreign countries.

All Nepalese those who are at home must take this festival serially, that is; provide a helping hand to the Government. There are so many things we can do as a Nepali or a Nepal Lover. We love doing what makes us happy. Promoting the land which gave us birth is a wonderful feeling. It’s in our blood. We can turn our feeling into action and many of the actions we can take won’t require a lot of money either, perhaps not even a penny.

Here are some ways to do, but who are we to tell another Nepali what to do. Tell us what you are doing to provide the helping hand or tell us what we should be doing. We would love to hear from you. Please comment below– we would very much appreciate you.

Not All Actions Cost Money — It’s REPEATED AGAIN!

  • Tell everyone about the Festival. We can do this by writing on a website, or even making a small story, poems, etc and sharing it via email as well.
  • Request a friend to visit Nepal. Little things matter the most. Our Requests could turn into actions. Who knows? Every single tourist entering Nepal counts and you have made it possible. So, why not do our part — We put this line as part of our email signature and we hope you do the same. — “Hope you will visit Nepal Someday”
  • Feel Free to Embed our Tourism Video(s) and the counter that’s presented on this site. Momentum moves. Things happen. Create your own tourism video(s), write about the festival or share. There are other resources you can use such as the desktop wallpapers, create, share, we know you are a guru in GRAPHIC DESIGN. You can share one here if you like.
  • Join in the discussions in our forum or blog but let us bring along something relevant to the topic helping others to better understand the festival and ways to even grab bargains. A Nepali Tours and Travel Site that is completely ignoring 2011 will lose more business than the others who embrace it. So travel agents, get your hands moving. Design new packages, (don’t spam with another domain or site clone) but direct your positive energy towards creating online site, offering valuable information. What can you offer in the festival ? Discounts ? New Packages ? Announce them and make it available. In doing so, not all of us are found in the search engine. Create a budget for Advertisement. Google Adwords and other Advertisements are effective. For a limited time, we might consider providing you with Ads on our site only upon review of your site (Two things must meet before anything else; relevant, uniqueness and resourceful contents)
  • We should take this festival seriously. (Oh my lord, this is again repeated) Not everyone has luxury of sitting at home. Many of us simply forget what’s a head. We hope, Every Nepali Website that is out there including blogs do  their part to promote the festival. You can put the banner of the festival or create your own. For official banners visit the site of “Nepal Tourism Board”, just Google for the quoted name, you should be on the site in no time. And if you like you the banners we have created, feel free to use these unofficial banners all created as part of our Helping Hands for Nepal Government.

Have we missed anything ? Please share.

Celebration has already started, now let us spread the word every tick of the clock.

We love sketches.

Look at those Helping Hands - Target is Attainable. Period.

Thank you so much for your time,
have a wonderful day.

On behalf of the Nepalvista Team,

Bhupendra Lamsal Sharma
