Nepal Tourism 2011 Year

About 2011

Those of us us who are unfamiliar with the year and Nepal, this page should clear things off.

Tourism has always been the #1 business of this country, hence, what better can be then to declare a year as tourism year ? That’s exactly what 2011 is for Nepal; a Tourism Year. It will be a year full of events to attract tourists to Nepal.

2011 English year has been officially declared as the Tourism Year for Nepal. Who decides ? Nepal Government along with the Tourism organization such as Nepal Tourism Board.  Last such event took place in 2007, where it was called the Visit Pokhara 2007. If you didn’t know, you can learn about that festival just by googling it. Now let’s get down to 2011 tourism festival in detail.

2011 Means for you as a traveler ?

  • Since, the entire year is dedicated to “YOU”, the traveler, expect handful of tourism events in the capital and else where such as the rural parts of Nepal. This time around the target is to create more destinations in the country. No wonder, villages have more to offer for travelers than cities, so sure enough, more village destinations will be there for you to explore.
  • Expect lower prices in Travel Packages.
  • Expect lower  prices in Hotel accommodation.
  • Expect the year to be the busiest tourism season breaking all previous records. There are already figures set for various records such as the number of tourists to achieve in the year.
  • all in all, Expect more for less.

What should you do ?

  • Are you planning a trip in the country but you can’t make it in 2010 ? Don’t worry. Take the advantage of the next year.
  • But, don’t be so happy either. Because, it’s the tourism year again, so everyone would want to come here and you might have to wait because you failed to plan earlier. More airlines may be added in the year so more people can make it to Nepal, but don’t wait for someone to act.  There are handful of travel companies who are already extending lower prices, so you no need to wait for the year 2011.
  • If you are living abroad, you can do more than just share your snaps of Nepal. Send a friend to Nepal.
  • Share the story as it unfolds. A year is very short. a lot can happen from here to there. This is the first time in the History of Nepal’s Tourism, Internet has made earlier momentum. It’s all good and you can take it as a web advertisement for the entire NATION.  Nepal Tourism Board and the Nepal Government’s Tourism Ministry have put their efforts in place such as creating websites with multimedia to promote and share the festival online. And perhaps promotional items such as TV Ads might be in the pipeline. Who knows what’s ahead ? While web promotion is easier and can be very effective, there are still handful of people on the planet who don’t use Internet, some because they can’t, some simply don’t use it at all. But they do travel. So we should expect other means of advertising such as through regional radios, newspapers etc so our festival is heard by as many people as possible.

What’s this new section on nepalvista.com for ?
